Central Depository Services (India) Limited (CDSL) on July 31, 2026, has issued a communiqué enhancing the transmission processing framework for Depository Participants (DPs), in continuation of its earlier communiqué dated July 27, 2026, which introduced PAN validations for transmission requests. The revised measures are aimed at streamlining and standardising the transmission process.
Under the revised process, DPs are required to ensure that both the Maker and Checker activities relating to transmission requests are completed on the same day to facilitate faster and more efficient processing. Additionally, CDSL has standardised the reason codes for both Inter-Depository and Intra-Depository transmission requests. The prescribed codes are TS for Transmission to Surviving Holder(s), TN for Transmission to Nominee(s), and TC for Transmission to Legal Heir(s).
Depository Participants have been advised to take note of these enhancements and ensure compliance with the revised transmission processing requirements.
